MORRIS DIGITALWORKS LICENSES BLUMUNKEE® TO WASHINGTON POST

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Morris DigitalWorks (MDW), developers of online technology and prepress software, announced today a new licensing contract with The Washington Post for MDW's prepress automation suite, BluMunKeeO Software. The integration of the software with The Washington Post's front-end system is scheduled for completion in late October.

BluMunKeeO Software is a prepress software package that automatically corrects pictures, creating color and monochrome versions in multiple sizes, formats, resolutions and gamuts. The software extends deep into the pressroom workflow, managing the flow of pictures to and from PDF files, servers, databases, properties, departments and customers.  Current installations range from small to large, servicing individual properties or multiple publications across multiple platforms.

"We tested BluMunKeeO Software for four weeks," said Kevin Conner, Quality Assurance Manager at The Washington Post. "It passed the proof-of-concept analysis with flying colors. The installation of this new prepress software will allow our imaging staff more time to concentrate on the photos we want to really focus on the most."

"We are extremely pleased to be a part of The Washington Post's continuing efforts to maintain a strong footing in newsprint," said Michael Romaner, president of Morris DigitalWorks. "BluMunKeeO software has proven to newspapers across the country that it saves time in the pressroom while consistently maintaining quality. The Post's decision to leverage our prepress technology into their printing process shows their commitment to quality and their strong intent to adapt to today's challenges in the newspaper industry."

The Washington Post is the flagship newspaper of The Washington Post Company, published in Washington, D.C. The Post is printed on eight color presses, half located in College Park, Md., and half in Springfield, Va. While The Post has operations around the metropolitan region and the world, news and business activities are headquartered in downtown Washington, D.C.
